19-23 October is Colleges Week, time to celebrate the brilliant things colleges do to build communities, boost businesses and support individuals. We’ve worked in partnership with colleges (and schools) up and down the country for 10 years bringing the world of work to students through our Insights from Industry sessions and employability skills sessions. Here we share feedback from some of our college partners about the impact of our programme on their students.
“As always the communication from Working Options was fantastic. I work with a number of employers or academic providers but hands down, honestly, Working Options make my life easiest! The sessions are perfect for our students, especially our Year 13 BTEC students as it fits perfectly with their units in September.”
Chris Jennings, Sixth Form Tutor, Cardinal Newman College, Preston
We’ve delivered our Insights from Industry and employability skills workshops Luton SFC for a number of years. During lockdown, many of their students joined our virtual sessions.
“Impressed by the pace at which you switched to online. You play a key role in improving the life chances of our students so it is really important – thank you.”
Altaf Hussain, Principal, Luton Sixth Form College
Richard Collyer College in Horsham is always really positive about the impact of our sessions on their students.
“The level of student engagement and enthusiasm was impressive and testament to Lauren, who is amazing! Working Options have been incredibly supportive of our progression and employability work over the last 3 years.”
Lucy Hargreaves, Employability Programme Coordinator, Richard Collyer College
We significantly increased the amount of content for students and educators in our Student Zone during lockdown. Priestly College in Warrington distributed our Life after lockdown guide to all students and parents.
“We LOVE all the information that you have compiled in the one place in the Life after Lockdown brochure. We’ll be adding this on to our upcoming e-shot that goes out to students and parents at Priestley.”
Pam Gardner, Tutor, Priestly College, Warrington
Lovely feedback from Bournemouth and Poole Sixth Form College after we ran an Insight from Industry session for their business and finance students.
“ The Working Options event was FANTASTIC. The best thing that has happened to Business & Finance this year. We had artisan chocolatiers and bakers. They brought Easter eggs and hot cross buns. Students love, love, loved it – thank you!!! We will always want more please”
Tracy Griffin, Assistant Principal, Bournemouth and Poole Sixth Form College
88% of students say they feel more confident about their future post-education after taking in part in one of our sessions.
“ The talk yesterday was fantastic and I think a lot of our students really took away some positive messages from their engagement! Thank you for your help in being able to make this happen, it was great for the students to be able to engage in such a way.”
Sean Baney, East Norfolk College
