young people engaged in schools, colleges and online
Due to COVID-19, we’ve unfortunately had to postpone three major fundraising events to 2021. We have a £200,000 funding gap.
The fall out of the pandemic will disproportionately affect the employment prospects of young people, particularly those from deprived communities, where the opportunity gap will widen further.
Our programme to give young people the employability and life skills they need to fulfil their potential is even more vital.
“I co-founded Working Options in Education 10 years ago following a visit to my old sixth form college in Luton. Growing up I had no idea what was possible career-wise but I wanted to inspire students to think positively about their futures, no matter where they come from. To date, we’ve engaged over 20,000 young people. I’m reaching out to you as volunteers, alumni and tutors to ask for your support now so that we can help thousands more to fulfil their potential."
88% of young people that take part in our programme tell us they feel more positive about their future post-education prospects.

We’ve developed our employability and life skills programme to offer young people multiple interactions with employers, because we know there is a direct correlation to improved academic attainment and future employability. The widening opportunity gap in employment prospects means that we particularly focus on engaging disadvantaged young people.
We want young people to feel inspired, informed and have the skills they need for their future. Young people consistently tell us that participating in our employability and life skills programme has a positive impact on their self-esteem and confidence.
Our employability and life skills programme supports schools and colleges to deliver many of the employer engagement elements of the ‘Gatsby Benchmarks’ for their students.
We act as a link between students and employers. We’ve developed strong links with the food, drink and retail industry in particular, because it employs 1 in 8 people in the UK in a wide range of roles and careers.
