In the world of careers education, creating lasting impact is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about fostering self-belief, instilling confidence, and showing young people what they can achieve in the world of work.

The last academic year (2022-23) was a record-breaking one for Working Options, as we had the privilege of working with over 28,000 young people.

We asked students and educators what impact they believe our work made last academic year, and the results speak volumes about the positive influence our programmes have had.

 

Students said

Boosting self-belief and confidence – 74% of students reported that our sessions increased their self-belief and overall confidence. This foundational shift is crucial for their personal and professional growth.

Nurturing positive outlooks – 82% of students surveyed now have a more positive outlook on their future plans and the opportunities that lie ahead. Our programmes have ignited their ambition and dreams.

Resilience and adaptability – In a rapidly changing world, adaptability is a key skill. 73% of students asked now have an improved ability to respond and adapt to changes and setbacks, making them more resilient individuals.

Enhancing competence and productivity – Our focus on skill development has paid off, with 74% of students reporting increased levels of confidence, competence, and productivity in their chosen skill areas.

Confidence in possibilities – 96% agree that students now have increased confidence in what is possible for them, fuelling their belief in a brighter future.

Elevated career aspirations – 92% noted that their students’ career aspirations have soared after participating in our sessions. 

Awareness of career options – 96% agreed that students have a heightened awareness of the career options available to them.

Skill advancements – 92% observed that students have increased levels of confidence, competence, and productivity in vital skill areas such as Teamwork, Presentation, Interview, and Problem Solving Skills.

Prepared for the Future – Equipped with knowledge and skills, 92% believe that their students are now confidently ready to take their next step.

Understanding employer expectations – 91% reported that students now have a better understanding of the skills, qualities, and attributes that employers seek.

Presentation skills – 87% noted that students have gained increased confidence in presenting their skills and attributes to potential employers.

Business acumen – 87% recognised that students now possess a better understanding of how businesses operate.

The resounding success of the past academic year, as evidenced by student and educator feedback, reaffirms our commitment to empowering the future generation. We are proud to have impacted the lives of over 28,000 young people, and we look forward to continuing our mission of nurturing dreams, building confidence, and shaping brighter futures. 

With a 100% recommendation rate from educators and 100% planning on working with us again this academic year, we are inspired to reach even greater heights in the years to come – with an ambition to reach 60,000 young people in person during the 2023-24 academic year and engage them 1,000,000 times through our digital content.
