Things have been busy here at Working Options in Education since the start of this academic year in September. Our priority for state school/college partners (we work with over 150) is to prioritise working with those in areas of high deprivation. We already work in half of the top 40 most deprived areas in the UK.

Following school and college closures due to Covid-19 we’re substantially boosting our Student Zone online content for students.

Since September…

New website launched

This new and improved website went live in January. It was developed by a Luton Sixth Form College graduate who participated in the Working Options programme 6 years ago. Our Student Zone is expanding weekly, as we forge partnerships with businesses and others to add new content.

Work experience placements

We’ve taken on two young people for paid work experience to help us with data processing – and as they’re members of our young target audience, we’re getting valuable feedback on our programme from them too!

Office move

After 7 years with no office base, we now have a lovely office space in Luton thanks to The Culture Trust Luton

Leadership Symposium 2020

Our annual Leadership Symposium event takes place on 12 November and is now open for bookings. There’s an excellent speaker line up including Sian Sutherland, A Plastic Planet, Wayne Hudson MD at Birds Eye, Jason Tarry, Tesco CEO and Baroness Did Harding, Chair of NHS Improvement. We are delighted to once again be welcoming more than 100 student guests from all over the UK who will attend for free.
