Impact on young people

The event was not just about football; it provided a unique opportunity for young people from Barnet and Southgate College, Elmgreen School, and Notre Dame Girls School to engage with industry professionals. Students had the chance to play alongside the teams, network, and learn about various roles and industries, leading to summer work experiences for some.

As a student, I didn’t think I could succeed in life. I felt too far removed from what corporate professionals are doing. But hearing from professionals and seeing what they do is amazing. Now, I know what I want to do in the future and how to get there.”

Extending the reach

Many of the industry experts also took the time at the event to sit on the sideline with our Digital Team and record some insights for our audience on TikTok (239,000 views and rising), keeping the impact of the day going online.

‘‘We are proud to support Working Options because we believe in the transformative impact of connecting young people with professional opportunities. Through our partnership, we are not only investing in the future of young people, but also improving the prospects for businesses by cultivating a well-prepared and motivated workforce. Together, we are fostering growth, innovation, and a brighter future for all.”

Join us next year!

As Ted Lasso said ” You can fill two internets with what I don’t know about football”, but one thing we do know is that the more interactions young people have with employers, the better their long term career outcomes will be – fact.
