Today we announce our latest partnership with Mind of the Student, providing workshops to students in years 7-13 on mental health and wellbeing. Equipping them with the necessary tools to improve their own mental health, understand where they can get further support, and opening the conversation around the topic.
Workshops are interactive and backed by leading NHS clinicians. Each workshop discusses depression, anxiety, social media pressures and exam stress followed by activities including breathing techniques, The Compliment Circle and The Five Senses.
The work has been made possible by the financial support of the Hemraj Goyal Foundation, who’ve funded not-for-profit Mind of the Student’s pilot work to understand the scope of support needed, and who are ensuring that schools in the most underserved areas are able to access workshops.
To book your FREE mental health workshop day for your school online or email our Head of Programme, Claire McMaster.
Claire McMaster, Head of Programme said:
“We want the young people we work with to be as best prepared as they can be when they take that step into the world of work. Let’s give our diverse talent the tools to manage their own wellbeing. We are delighted to be partnering with Mind of the Student to support young people by equipping them with the necessary tools to improve their mental health and understand where they can get further support. Along with our Career Pathways Programme, it’s a recipe for success!”
Mind of the StudentÂ
Mind of the Student launched in 2022, with a mission to empower and create self-sufficient young people.
They believe that every young person should be given the tools to develop and thrive, and that this starts with having a good understanding of their mental health.
Their charity aims to advance and enrich the schooling of young people by delivering mental health-based workshops across London, Essex and South East England, specifically targeting hard-to-reach youth to maximise service user benefit.
Jaylan Sesli, Chief Operating Officer at Mind of the Student, said:
“We are incredibly excited about this new partnership with Hemraj Goyal Foundation and Working Options in Education. This partnership will allow Mind of the Student to reach more students, educating them on the important subject of mental health. There is a clear collaborative passion for our cause between us all and the team at Mind of the Student are really looking forward to working together!”
