Our very own Sue Maskrey, Chief Executive, has been invited to join the judging panel for the Third Sector Business Charity Awards 2025, which recognise the contributions businesses make to charities across the UK.

With over 20 years of experience in the charity sector, Sue has seen first-hand the impact that well-structured partnerships between businesses and charities can have. At Working Options, we work with businesses that provide valuable support to young people, helping them develop the skills and confidence to move into employment. And these awards highlight and celebrate the work of businesses that engage meaningfully with charities – like the ones who support our work – through funding, volunteering, pro bono support, or long-term collaboration.

As a judge Sue will be fair but with high standards, looking for genuine collaboration, clear outcomes, and initiatives that create long-term positive change. Her advice to entrants was to focus on demonstrating impact through both data and storytelling:

It’s important to show not just what was done, but why it mattered and how you know it worked. Strong entries will go beyond listing activities and provide clear evidence of the difference they’ve made.

The Awards provide an opportunity for businesses to showcase their charitable work, and are an important platform to raise awareness of key social issues, and to inspire other organisations to support the work of the third sector.

This year’s awards include 27 categories spanning innovation, community impact, environmental sustainability, and sector-specific partnerships; including, Best Digital Innovation, Employee Engagement Initiative of the Year, Marketing Partnership of the Year, Project of the Year, and CSR Team of the Year.

Sue begins the judging next week, with the shortlist announced on Thursday 13 March, and the awards taking place on Thursday 8 May.

If your organisation has been involved in charitable work, with Working Options or another partner, we encourage you to consider entering in 2026, as judging for this year has now closed. More information can be found at www.businesscharityawards.com.
