In August, we launched our Bridge the Gap 2020 fundraising campaign to raise much-needed funds to support our programme. Several personal challenges have already been completed.
Our Head of Operations and Co-Founder, Lauren Monk, completed her 300kms in 4 weeks challenge this week raising £2260 for Working Options in Education.
Lauren says, “This was a huge challenge for me personally. I did it because I have seen first hand how much of an impact the charity has on young people over the last 10 years and wanted to lead by example. If I am asking others to support and get involved I had to walk the talk!”
Check out Lauren’s motivational video about her challenge in our Student Zone.
Fundraising Consultant, Rachel Roxburgh also completed her challenge – to cycle 1000 kms with a group of friends raising £860 in the process.
Rachel says, “I have been working with the charity for several months and am so impressed with the passion they have to help young people become equipped to enter the workforce confidently. So I got a group of friends together to cycle 1000 km in 1 month (we hit 1100km!). It was a great reason to get fit and also raise vital funds – we loved it, despite a few punctures along the way!”
Working Options in Education Trustee, Sufian Sadiq completed Luton to Brighton by bike with some teacher colleagues and has raised £1175.
Well done and a BIG thank you to Lauren, Rachel and Sufian!
